Information On Factory Jaguar XJS Rims and Wheels

The XJ-S began production in 1975 to replace the renowned 2 door coupe/convertible E-type. With a front engine and rear wheel drive, the XJ-S followed in the E-type's footsteps and was a two door coupe intermittently available as a convertible throughout the twenty-one years that the XJ-S line was manufactured. The engine that powered the XJ-S for its first five years was a 5.3L V12 engine, that lasted only a short time because of the exorbitant fuel consumption and was replaced in 1980 with two more fuel efficient engines; a 3.6L straight 6 engine and a modified V12 labeled the HE for high efficiency that consumed half as much fuel as the previous V12. In 1996 the XJ-S was discontinued to be replaced by the XK8.

XJ-S rims were exclusively 15" and 16" and offered no steel wheels. The 15" alloy rims were machined, silver, or chrome finished with 5, 15, or diamond spoke patterns. The 16" alloy wheels had 5, 11, or 20 spokes.
