FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
Are these new or used wheels?
The bulk of our inventory is made up of used wheels. They are refinished factory original take-off rims unless otherwise stated. We do carry brand new original wheels and brand new replicas but these items will be clearly marked as BRAND NEW or REPLICA on our website.
What condition are the wheels in?
The rims we sell are in immaculate condition, guaranteed. If there are flaws or issues with a specific rim, it will be clearly communicated to the customer prior to finalizing the purchase. These are factory original take-offs and our restoration department will put in the work necessary to make each one look new once ordered.
Exception: Cladded chrome wheels CANNOT be restored and are always sold in ‘as-is’ condition. Our sales representatives can provide pictures of these specific products before they are shipped if they are not in immaculate condition.
What does the OriginalWheel.com guarantee include?
- You will receive a rim in the condition stated either on the website or by a member of our team. It will be like new unless otherwise agreed upon prior to shipping.
- Structurally, the rim you receive from our company will be perfect. There will be no cracks or bends; it will be 100% functional.
- You will receive what you order. The finish and style that is on the invoice is exactly what will be delivered and if it is not, the return shipping will be at our cost and we will issue a full refund or replacement if available.
How long before I get my wheel after it’s ordered?
Our priority is to ship these wheels to our customers in a timely manner and typically, your order will be shipped within 1-2 business days after the order is placed. After that, it will typically be delivered to your home or business between 1 and 5 business days. For expedited shipping or to receive your rim by a specific date, please contact a member of our sales team to see if we can make the necessary arrangements to get your wheel to you sooner.
What is the cost of shipping?
Ground shipping on each rim can range between $15 - $50 dollars, depending on the weight, size and the destination of the shipment. The shipping on an average rim costs about $25.
Customers do have the option of expedited shipping; however, it is expensive and normally starts at $100 and can go to $200+ with 2nd day or next day air per wheel. All expedited orders must be placed over the phone and delivery date is not necessary guaranteed by the carrier (generally UPS).
Do you ship to Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico?
At the moment, we only ship our wheels within the Contiguous U.S.
However, we are always willing to ship your order to a forwarding company if need be. Please note that in this situation our company will only cover the shipping from us to the forwarding company and we will not cover any return shipping should problems with the wheel arise.
Do you ship to Canada or internationally?
Unfortunately we do not ship internationally at this time and all credit card purchase must be made with a valid US billing address for verification.
How do I determine my wheel finish?
Determining the correct finish of your wheel can be tricky! That is why we prefer that customers with questions about finish call our Toll Free number for assistance.
Note that a clear picture of a clean wheel emailed to your sales representative is a HUGE help in determining the finish of your rim.
Do you chrome wheels?
In most circumstances, we can get just about any alloy wheel chromed for you.
But remember, if the chrome is not the factory refinish, this will be treated like a custom order and the sale will be final. Returns will not be accepted unless the rims delivered were structurally faulty or damaged.
Do you guarantee your chrome?
All of our chrome is guaranteed for up to a year.
Chrome that is cared for correctly and that is shielded from corrosive elements such as salt water or snow can last years, but if not cared for will quickly corrode and peel. We will gladly re-chrome or replace any chrome wheel ordered from us that is peeling or discolored due to a defect in the chroming process. However we do not cover any damages caused by customer error, improper care, or salt damage.
What is considered a special order?
Wheel orders are considered "special order" when our staff locates a rim elsewhere that is currently not in our inventory. In these circumstances, the price of the rim we locate might be less or might be more then our listed price, but we will offer all options for you to consider.
You will be told if the wheel you need is a special order and you will be told what the final cost is so you can make the best decision for your vehicle. For your convenience, our guarantee does cover all special ordered rims.
What is your return policy?
Please visit ‘Returns and Other Policies’ for more information about our OEM wheels and our 30-day return policy.
Do you buy wheels?
Yes, we do purchase factory original wheels. But before you contact us, please identify the rims that you are selling and note that we require the rims shipped to us once a deal is agreed on. That means that you may be responsible for the $15 to $50 dollars it costs to ship each wheel to our location.
We only purchase wheels in structurally good condition, not cracked, bent, or warped. Rims must be in their original OEM finish, no money will be offered for any wheels with aftermarket chrome.
If we are interested, we will be glad to negotiate a price.
